What’s new in PHP 5.6 & How to contribute to PHP.NET

Pierre Joye is a PHP Core Developer and OSS contributor since more than a decade. He leads the PHP Windows support, main developer from LibGD and works on many OSS projects like curl and numerous other libraries used in web development. After many years as Freelancer, Pierre works now with the Microsoft OpenSource technology Center in Redmond and in Germany.

For this meetup Peter will talk about two different topics:

1. What’s new in PHP 5.6?

Get the latest news about what will be the next PHP versions. PHP 5.6 is in the starting blocks with many exciting new features. We will discuss the most important ones as well as what could come after 5.6 as well.

2. how to contribute to php.net

We will explain the various ways to contribute to php.net. Be to the core language, the documentation or the various part of the php.net infrastructure. It covers in details php core debugging, how to create useful bug reports, fix small issues with basic C knowledge.
